Proposal presented for the Supreme Court to hear Presidential petitions only

The judiciary’s elections petition committee is proposing that election petitions filed in the courts have only one level of appeal and that the Supreme Court should only determine a petition challenging presidential election results and not any other.

This means that MCAs will only have the high court as their highest level of appeal and all other bodies will terminate their appeals at the court of appeal. These views were presented before the joint select committee on the IEBC and our reporter Andrew Ochieng’ was there.
